The SS Aquitania brought Anna Schnitzler and Sam Guster to America on January 30, 1921. Their descendants include some Guster, Schmidt, Powell and Stanley families living in Northeast Ohio.
Anton Willig blazed a trail to America aboard the SS Rotterdam on February 13, 1902. It took another six years before his wife, Clara Kovacs, and his two children, Maria and Stephan Willig, could follow. Their descendants include many Willig, Schleis and Sigmund families living in Northeast Ohio. Many years later, it was the Rotterdam that carried Stephan Weiman (the son of Barbara Schnitzler and Leopold Weiman) to be reunited with his brother, George, in Barberton, Ohio.
Valentine Sigmund came to the U.S. to begin a life for him and his young family just after the turn of the century. It was the SS Saxonia that brought his bride, Theresia Schnitzler, to be with him on March 26, 1911. Two of her sons married Schleis sisters, creating a blood bond between the two families for many descendants.
